Who I am
I am an independent IT consultant. In 2001, I and my two partners formed our own company, LPI Solutions. Since that time we have worked for service providers, pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions and many other clients large, small and in between.
My career in Information Technologies has spanned about 30 years. I possesses extensive knowledge of the business application of information technology in Manufacturing, Retail, Financial, Pharmaceutical and Service Provider markets. My background includes managing and participating in the full project lifecycle, particularly planning, designing and implementing high-availability enterprise services, including:
- Network and Systems Management, ITSM and OSS processes, tools, procedures;
- IT Service Management infrastructures, processes, tools, procedures;
- Internet/Intranet service (mail, news, web, etc.) delivery infrastructure;
- Security policy, process and systems design;
- Data infrastructure and migration.
I have a proven track record in highlighting and resolving issues in diverse, technical environments and coordinating team efforts for installations, upgrades, and problem resolution. I am frequently called upon to develop business requirements and functional specifications and to bridge the gap between technical and business areas. I possesses excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. I am goal-oriented, diligent, and resourceful
My current and past clients have included:
- MTS Allstream
- IBM Canada
- Apotex Inc.
- Toronto Dominion Bank Financial Group
- United Technologies
- Rogers Communications
I am the father of two boys, husband of one wife (you never know, eh?). Apart from my family, my passion is canoeing and camping, particularly with my sons. Although my wife has tried to like it, she is a city girl at heart and just isn't comfortable in a canoe or in the wilderness.
My great interest in wilderness tripping has been matched by an equally strong interest for white water canoeing. I am a Paddle Canada certified Moving Water Canoe instructor, both solo and tandem canoeing, teaching Introduction to Moving Water, Intermediate Moving Water and Advanced Moving Water courses.
Recently my interest in photography has been revived by the purchase of a Nikon D80 digital camera. You can see some of the results in my gallery.
