I am the father of two boys, husband of one wife
(you never know, eh?). Apart from my family, my passion is canoeing and
camping,
particularly with my sons, Sean and Stephen.
Although my wife tries, she is a city girl at heart and just isn't
comfortable in a canoe or in the wilderness.
Lately my great interest in wilderness tripping
has been matched with an equally strong
interest for white water canoeing. I wouldn't say I am particularly
good, but I paddle with a great bunch of people who put up with me. I
am comfortable in class III and most IV rapids.
I am a Paddle Canada certified
instructor in Advanced Solo and Tandem Moving Water.
Two great places for introducing kids to
camping
are Frontenac
Provincial Park and
the French
River,
both in Ontario.
You can read about some of my trips on my Canoeing and Camping
page.
For the last few years I have been coaching
boy's
baseball
(Rookie Ball, Mosquito and Peewee)
in the Royal York Baseball League in Toronto.
This has been a generally enjoyable experience,
although I would prefer to see the parents more involved.
I think I have learned at least as much as the kids did.
